Jel Dennie Luma is an emerging business leader and sustainability advocate, currently completing her final year at Babson College, where she is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Entrepreneurship with a concentration in Environmental Sustainability. A Global Scholar, Natalie Taylor Scholar, and SHE CAN Scholar, Jel represents a new generation of purpose-driven African changemakers committed to reshaping the future of business and sustainability in Africa and beyond.

Originally from Liberia, Jel brings a unique blend of cultural insight, academic excellence, and hands-on experience in leadership, marketing, and social impact. At Babson, she has served in several student leadership roles, including Global Scholar Orientation Leader, Summer Study Academic Mentor, and Summer Admission Ambassador, where she supports new students while fostering a diverse and inclusive campus culture.

Jel’s professional journey reflects her commitment to innovation and environmental stewardship. As a Sales and Marketing Intern at Kawadah Farms in Monrovia, Liberia, she contributed to a mission-driven enterprise focused on food security and sustainable agriculture in West Africa. During her time there, she helped implement eco-conscious marketing strategies while gaining valuable field experience in agribusiness and stakeholder engagement.

Her passion for green solutions led her to co-lead a greenhouse construction project in collaboration with local farmers, promoting eco-friendly farming practices and climate resilience. Jel’s work bridges classroom knowledge with community-centered action, emphasizing practical, scalable solutions to environmental and economic challenges in Africa.

Driven by values of equity, innovation, and collaboration, Jel is building a career at the intersection of business, sustainability, and development. Her long-term vision is to empower African communities through entrepreneurship education and environmentally sustainable business models that foster inclusive growth.
