Emmanuel Knagay is a seasoned finance professional with over a decade of progressive experience in banking and corporate finance. He currently serves as Team Lead and Deputy Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at United Bank for Africa (UBA) Liberia, where he plays a critical leadership role in financial planning, regulatory compliance, and strategic decision-making.
Born in Caldwell, Liberia, and originally from Bong County, Emmanuel holds an MBA in Corporate Finance, equipping him with advanced knowledge and skills in financial strategy, performance analysis, and risk management. Known for his integrity, precision, and strong work ethic, he brings a results-driven approach to financial leadership.
At UBA, Emmanuel supervises the finance team and oversees the preparation of financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. He is instrumental in developing and executing the bank’s strategic plan, leading the preparation of Monthly Performance Review (MPR) reports, coordinating regulatory and statutory filings, and ensuring full compliance with Liberia’s Revenue Code. He also manages payroll taxation, monitors capital expenditure, and supervises the bank’s fixed assets register.
In addition to these responsibilities, Emmanuel plays a vital role in coordinating external audits, managing the annual budget process, and representing the CFO in high-level meetings and engagements. His leadership ensures that the finance function operates with efficiency, compliance, and alignment with organizational goals.
