Joshua Coyle

Board Chair

Josh Coyle is a passionate and innovative bioengineer dedicated to advancing digital and global health through equitable medical technology. With over four years of experience, he has led the development of wearable and contactless health devices from concept through clinical validation to commercialization. Most recenatly, he served as a Research Engineer at Rice360 Institute for Global Health Technologies, where he developed a low-cost respiratory monitoring device for newborns in Sub-Saharan Africa, coordinating clinical trials in Texas and Malawi.


Josh has a deep commitment to Africa’s growth and development, with a particular focus on improving maternal and newborn health outcomes through locally appropriate and scalable medical innovations. His work spans bioreactor monitoring, ECG algorithms, capnography, and health systems research in settings like Nepal and Malawi. He holds a degree in Bioengineering with Honors from the University of Washington and is driven by the belief that engineering can be a powerful force for global health equity.
