Chari Perera

Chari Perera is a seasoned business leader with over two decades of experience in global marketing, business development, and product management within the semiconductor capital equipment and materials industry. He currently serves as Director of Business Management at Applied Materials, where he leads strategic business initiatives, account management, and value capture programs for the Silicon Products Group.

Chari’s core expertise spans a wide range of advanced technologies including PVD, CVD, CMP, ALD deposition, and MOCVD systems for semiconductor applications. He also has a strong background in LED/OLED display technologies, GaN on Si for power devices, and next-generation materials platforms such as carbon nanotubes and graphene.

Prior to his current role, Chari held positions of increasing responsibility at Air Liquide, AIXTRON SE, and Phelps Dodge (now Freeport McMoRan), where he spearheaded market expansion efforts, new product launches, and sales enablement strategies across North America and global markets. His deep knowledge of CMP materials, ALD chemistries, and engineered semiconductor solutions has positioned him as a trusted expert in navigating complex technical sales and go-to-market strategies.

Chari is known for his ability to drive market share growth, develop robust sales pipelines, and foster strategic partnerships that bridge innovation and customer value. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from California State University – East Bay and is based in Sunnyvale, California.
